CoLead.
A full-bleed, performance-engineered WordPress site — 11 individually designed project pages, custom scroll animations, per-page visual planning, and precise performance optimisation. Built manually, every page. Fast, responsive, and visually confident.

We need a website that makes architecture and sustainability work feel as good as the work itself — without destroying performance.

The story
The story.
CoLead is not a typical Kyrex client. They are a New Delhi-based sustainable building design consultancy — working at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and climate impact. Their tagline: "At the intersection of high design and performance." Their mission: #design2decarbonize.
They came to Kyrex with a challenge that most web projects don't have: the work itself is visual at a level that most websites can't handle. Architecture and sustainability projects need to be felt, not just described. Full-bleed imagery, carefully orchestrated scroll behaviour, per-page design decisions, performance that doesn't collapse under the weight of high-resolution project photography.
This is Kyrex's most visually intensive delivered project — and by the founder's own assessment, one of the builds he is most proud of. Every page was pre-planned visually, designed deliberately, and handcrafted manually. No templates carried the load.
My most underpaid project — and one of the builds I'm most proud of.

What we built
04 workstreamsDeliverables.
01 — Full-bleed visually intensive website
Every page pre-planned and designed independently. Full-bleed layout throughout. No template uniformity — each section designed for its specific content. The site behaves as a design artefact, not a content container.
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Design approach | Full-bleed — imagery and content extend edge to edge throughout |
| Page planning | Each page individually pre-planned visually before build |
| Build method | Manually handcrafted on WordPress + Elementor — no theme defaults carried over |
| Performance | Image optimisation, lazy loading, script management — performance-engineered despite visual intensity |
| Animations | Custom scroll-triggered animations — entrance effects, parallax, transition sequences |
| Scroll behaviour | Deliberate scroll pacing — content reveals timed to reading and viewing rhythm |
02 — 11 individually designed project pages
Each of the 11 projects is a distinct page — individually designed, not populated from a template. Projects span 7 typologies.
| Project Typology | Category |
|---|---|
| Commercial | Office, retail, and commercial space projects |
| Hospitality | Hotel, resort, and hospitality projects |
| Institutional campus | University and institutional campus projects |
| Healthcare | Hospital and healthcare facility projects |
| Residential | Residential architecture and interiors |
| Industrial | Industrial facility design and sustainability engineering |
| Educational | School and educational institution projects |
Each project page carries its own visual identity — different layout rhythm, different image treatment, different content hierarchy — while maintaining coherence within the CoLead brand system.
03 — Technical challenges
This was not a difficult project because of backend complexity. It was difficult because visual ambition and web performance are in constant tension — and resolving that without compromising either requires precise engineering decisions at every layer.
- Full-bleed imagery at high resolution across all pages — optimised without visible quality loss
- Custom scroll-triggered animations — timed, sequenced, and tested across browsers and devices
- Per-page layout diversity — 11 unique project page designs, none templated, all responsive
- Performance engineering — Elementor's default rendering overhead stripped back, scripts deferred, images lazy-loaded
- Responsiveness at every breakpoint — full-bleed layouts are among the hardest to make responsive correctly
04 — Awards and recognition
